From Luxe Talent, International Recruitment and Specialised Training Consultancy, we are looking for a talented Financial Controller with Italian to join a Retail company based in Madrid.
Job Description
- Provide comprehensive support across various accounting functions (billing, tax forms, reporting, etc.).
- Contribute to the development of internal controls and policies to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, adhering to official guidelines and requirements.
- Oversee journal entries, invoices, and account reconciliations for monthly or annual closings.
- Aid in the creation of budgets and forecasts.
- Participate in preparations for the annual audit process.
- Assist in generating reports for management and regulatory purposes.
- Conduct reviews of the company’s accounting data to detect and resolve inaccuracies or discrepancies.
- Utilize accounting IT systems to streamline processes and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor and reconcile bank statements.
- Process tax payments and manage accounts payable.
- Handle invoice processing and communication with suppliers and partners as necessary.
- Supervise a team of local controllers for other countries.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field is preferred
- Proven experience as assistant controller or other similar position
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
- Proficiency in written and verbal Italian, english and Spanish; additional languages like French, or Portuguese are beneficial.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of ERP systems is advantageous.
- Ability to multitask and work with a sense of urgency.
- Strong desire to contribute to a dynamic Finance organization.
- Positive attitude, self-motivation, and teamwork skills are essential for achieving goals while maintaining a fun work environment.
